There are five specialized laboratories in our department, including network security, intelligent systems, decision support systems, e-Learning, and data mining. Students at the computational laboratory in the design and implementation of software for the solution of different problems arising from a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications.

Features & Objectives

Network Security Lab
(C402)

Objectives In the future, the goal of the laboratory is to develop highly secure network systems, and we anticipate that the following affairs will be continuously achieved:

1. Striving for research projects supported by the Ministry of Education and Academia Sinica in order to
  be engaged in thorough research.
2. Carrying on the interscholastic research cooperation for gaining more resources to extend
  the research field.
3. Educating students with practice experiences of team cooperation, independent thinking and
  research development.
4. Publishing research results in domestic and foreign well-known academic journals and conferences.

The laboratory is mainly devoted to the study of a wide variety of communication networks security, and stresses that the theory and the practice pay equal attention. At present, our research results from the support of research projects, inter-school research cooperation as well as cooperation with enterprises include:

1. Highly efficient and secure elliptic curve public key cryptosystem and its applications.
2. Highly secure and convenient user authentication schemes for multiple servers environments.
3. The development of highly secure e-commerce and e-government environments.
4. The construction of intelligent network intrusion detection systems.
5. Highly efficient Linux-based wireless communication security schemes and their applications.
6.  Highly efficient web services security schemes.
7.  Security schemes for ad hoc networks.
8.  The construction of rights management mechanism and verification platform for digital
  archives contents.

Objectives 1.To educate students with the capabilities of applying information technology to support
  decision making and build up business intelligence.
2.To educate students with the skills of collaboration, independent thinking, and cross-field
  research work.
3.To educate students with the capabilities of developing business intelligence systems and
  decision analysis models.

Objectives 1. For Learning Technology Group: Designing and managing the effective learning environments for
  schools and enterprises by means of integrating learning theories with information technology.
2. For E-business Group: To provide research and development contributions towardsenterprise
  demands, based on interdisciplinary consolidation of industrial knowledge and information technology.

Data Mining
Applications Laboratory

(C305)
Objectives This laboratory mainly trains students to study the data analysis methods in data mining, machine learning and Artificial Intelligence domain. In addition, we educate students with the capabilities of applying those data analysis technologies to find out the useful, effective, and summary information. The information can support decision making, assist manager to formulate the organization strategy and provide suggestion about organization management and marketing. Through operating those data analysis technologies create the competitive advantage for the enterprise.
